Not good enough

What is a “good Mom?”  Is it a calm, gentle woman who never raises her voice?  It is one whose house is spotless…always?  What about a Mom who’s kids behave in public?  I’m realizing as I grow in the Gospel that no one’s perfect “no, not one,” and that “all have sinned.”  So what’s the definition of a “good Mom?”  There’s no such thing (I just breathed a huge sigh of relief).  As much as I strive to do my best, at my core, I’m a sinner desperately in need of a Savior.  I’m the recipient of huge grace.  God has not called me to be a “good Mom.”  He knows I’m not; that’s why Christ came.   He’s called me to love Him and others and through that love, as “not good” as if often is, I pray our boys will accept the gift of grace Jesus has given to our “not so good” family.
