“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” -2 Corinthians 9:8
“God is able”-Did you catch that in the verse? This week as I’ve thought through the question, “Do I believe He cares?” I came across this verse and it got me to thinking about another question-“Do I believe He is able?” This time the answer…Yes!
Then why the disconnect between believing He is able and not believing He cares. Here’s what I wrote in my journal-
God is able-Do I believe He can? Yes. Do I believe He cares? Not sure. I trust more in His Power than His Person. What if God saved me and that was it? Would I be able to love Him? Would that moment on Calvary be enough? His character was revealed-Who He is-That should be enough without another blessing. Father, help me to believe in Who you are more than what You can do!
That’s my prayer. That I will love God, even now in the uncertainties, because of Who He is not because of what He can do. I want to believe He cares because His grace overwhelms me!
